1.Stamps have been around since1840 (May 6, to be exact). DAVO Publishing offers pre-printed stamp albums from more than 70 countries. This means that each stamp is already depicted in the album. To keep the collection system complete, new sheet sets—calledsupplements—are published every year. These feature the stamps from the most recent year.
2.The DAVO collection system starts with onealbum(or multiple albums) per country to store the sheets and stamps. For the Netherlands, there are currently 9. These albums feature a convenient screw-closure system that allows you to add sheets to your album or remove them.

3. Foreach year in which a particular country issues stamps, there is asheet set—called a supplement—that features all the stamps (usually in black and white) issued that year. You can add these to your album.

4.To tailor the collection to collectors’ preferences, DAVO Publishing offers abasic supplement* for each country. However, there are also collectors who prefer to collect sheets, booklets, blocks, or other formats. DAVO produces special supplements for these purposes. So you only need to purchase the issues that are relevant to your collection.

5. Then, of course, the question remains: “How do I store the stamps on the pages in the album?” To that end, all pages are lined withmounting stripsthat are exactly large enough to protect the stamp. Please note: mounting strips always consist of two sheets of plastic, between which the stamp is stored. For optimal protection!
(Note: If the stamp doesn’t fit, there’s a good chance it was accidentally inserted behind both sheets of the adhesive strip instead of between them.)

6.DAVO Publishingoffers novice collectors an affordable option: purchasing complete albums (instead of the annual supplements in separate volumes). This results in significant savings. There are now eight albums available for the Netherlands:

7. Theavailable volumes with a number on the spine—for which there is currently no content (in the form of supplements)—and the unnumbered volumes highlight the flexibility of the DAVO collection system. You can use these volumes to store other items that you’d like to keep with your collection. Also, if you’ve added other items to albums I through VIII, causing them to become too full, you can “shift the contents” and usevolume IX orvolume Xto store your entire collection logically within the DAVO collection system.

8.If you want to include additional items in your album system, you naturally want the whole thing to continue to look attractive, neat, and cohesive. To that end, the DAVO album system offers a number of sheets and folders that allow you to add every conceivable philatelic item to your album.

Use: The title pages give your albums an extra touch of luxury

b)Insert Sheets
Use: These insert sheets are ideal, among other things, for storing your stamps from the current year—for which no supplement has been published yet—in your album.

c)Blank,diamond-grid, and ruled sheets
Usage: With these sheets, you can organize or expand your collection entirely as you see fit by using sheets and/or an album with blank, diamond-grid, and ruled sheets.
d) Blank bordered sheets with country names
Use: If you collect variations of stamps from a specific country, the blank bordered sheets with a country name are ideal. You can add these to your album to create a beautiful and well-organized collection.

Use: With the DAVO L-folders, which you attach to blank sheets, you can easily and flexibly include all kinds of stamps and sheets in your album.

9. TheDAVO collection system, of course, also includes thetab stripsyou need to store your stamps on blank, grid, and ruled sheets. You can choose from no fewer than six variants:

10.The DAVO supplement sheets for the basic supplements include all newly issued stamps, blocks, and booklets. In the basic supplement, you will find each different stamp listed only once. Sheets and booklets containing multiple identical stamps are not included in this supplement; only the different stamps from these sets are listed. If stamps are issued on both gummed and self-adhesive paper, only the base stamp (usually the gummed version) is included. This also applies to variations in color or perforation.
You can add stamp variations that we do not include in the basic supplement to your album yourself using sheets or folders (as described in point 8). In this way, DAVO Publishers offers you a foundation for your collection, along with maximum flexibility.
