Every city featured in the successful “Mooi Nederland” series, which has been published since 2005, has a fascinating history. For example, Nijmegen is nearly 2,000 years old, almost nothing in Rotterdam is the same as it was 100 years ago, and Almere didn’t even exist 50 years ago! In short, every city has its own story. And those stories have now been brought together in the beautiful collection *Mooi Nederland: Cities to the Present*.
The “Cities Through the Years” series ties in with the ongoing “Beautiful Netherlands”* series. Six cities have been selected from each year in this series. We look back at the past, but also examine the city as it is today. This is done through two personalized stamp sheets depicting the city then and now, two beautifully designed album pages, two pre-stamped postcards (featuring the original “Mooi Nederland” stamp) with images from the past and present, and a city map with a walking route that takes you past the city’s many sights.
